Figure Out How to Date Differently
Dating isn’t supposed to feel like a second job, but for many people, that’s exactly what it’s become.
You might be burned out from endless swiping, bored with the same small talk on dates, disappointed by repeated letdowns, or feeling overwhelmed with where to start.
Dating fatigue is real and it can leave you questioning both the process and yourself.
Dating today takes patience, courage, and resilience. But it doesn’t have to be so draining. With the right insight and support, you can approach dating in a way that feels more intentional, hopeful, and aligned with who you really are.
When Dating Starts to Feel Like a Chore
You might be:
- Burned out from dating apps or unsure how to meet people in real life
- Caught in the same frustrating attachment patterns with unavailable or mismatched partners
- Struggling with vulnerability, fear of rejection, or comparing yourself to others
- Wondering when or how to talk about sex, intimacy, or exclusivity
- Healing from a breakup, divorce, or past hurt that still lingers
- Feeling disconnected from your sexuality, or unsure what truly attracts you
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
Many smart, accomplished, self-aware people find dating harder than it “should” be. Through the process of finding your partner, you’ll also deepen your communication skills, self-awareness, and living life aligned to your authentic self.

How Therapy Can Help You Date Differently
As a sex, relationship, and dating therapist, I take a comprehensive approach to your experience — understanding the emotional and relational patterns that shape how you date, while also helping you develop the practical tools to make change now.
Together, we may:
- Identify your values, needs, and intentions for dating
- Understand your attachment style and how it shows up in relationships
- Recognize and break unhelpful patterns or perfectionism
- Build confidence and self-worth, so you can show up authentically
- Understand your “turn ons” and “turn offs” and how they are affecting your search
- Explore sexual concerns or anxieties that may hold you back (performance anxiety)
- Navigate boundaries, communication, and dating expectations
- Align your dating profile, photos, and approach with your true values and intentions
- Understand your swiping patterns — who you’re drawn to or rejecting, and why
- Reflect on how you show up on dates: what you lead with, how you connect, and what you want a partner to know about you
This process is past, present, and future oriented: we may explore the past to understand how you got here, but we’ll also focus on the present — helping you make tangible shifts in how you approach dating and connection.
A More Authentic Way to Date
There’s no one “right” way to date. My goal is to help you discover your way — one that reflects your values, your desires, and your personality.
Together, we’ll work toward:
- Dating with intention instead of pressure
- Redefining rejection and learning to stay resilient
- Communicating more honestly and confidently
- Feeling more connected to pleasure, desire, and possibility
- Building relationships that feel real, mutual, and emotionally safe
Dating doesn’t have to be something you dread. It can be an opportunity to learn more about yourself — and to build the foundation for the kind of partnership that feels deeply fulfilling.

My approach is driven by what your goals are for our sessions. Goals such as understanding your dating patterns, defining your values, or exploring your attachment style may require exploring earlier experiences. If you’re wanting assistance in setting up your dating profile, reducing dating anxiety or exploring how to meet people off apps, we can work more in the present.

I don’t believe we need to be perfect prior to dating. Sometimes dating can be a great way to learn more about yourself and become more self-aware, especially with the support of a therapist by your side.

I often coordinate care with your current therapist to make sure we all align to best support you. If you don’t currently have a therapist, we can work together on other challenges that may come up, since dating is not an isolated part of our lives.

Sometimes we do not know that until we begin exploring your goals and obstacles. As a licensed therapist, in addition to providing dating support, I’m equipped to support any deeper unaddressed challenges that may be still affecting areas of your life.
